It is around this time of year that Siem Reap tends to fall into a state of slumber as locals and expats alike take a break to relax and slowly prepare for the oncoming busy season ahead. It is during these times that some amazing cultural events take place. Siem Reap recently has been at the forefront of some very cool events!
Next month is no exception with the anticipated Siem Reap Debut of ‘PRUMSODUN OK & Natyarasa’.
Prumsodun Ok & NATYARASA is Cambodia’s first gay dance company re-staging Khmer classical dances with a vital freshness creating original, groundbreaking works that thrive at the intersection of art and human dignity.
The incredible dance group is committed to elevating the quality of life and expression for LGBTQ people in Cambodia, in a manner that is local in character and global in significance.

Performing for two nights on the 14th and 15th of July here in Siem Reap at the homes of the incredible Darryl Collins, one of Cambodia’s few foreign experts on Khmer architecture. During his time in Cambodia, Collins, has preserved and protected several traditional Cambodian houses. This Siem Reap debut will be held at two of these houses (one of them being over 100 years old). Collins was clever enough to purchase them before they were going to be destroyed and transported them to his property here in Siem Reap, restoring them to their original grandeur.
During the evening, guests will get the rare opportunity to visit and experience the interior and exterior of these beautifully cared for homes and be able to spend time personally with Collins himself.
Tickets are on sale from Friday the 16th of June for $20.00 and includes all transport to and from the venue plus a welcome sparkling cocktail!
