‘The King’s Last Song’ at The Little Red Fox Espresso!

What’s up at Little Red Fox?

‘SESSIONS’ at The Little Red Fox Espresso hosted the latest documentary from director John Pirozzi (Don’t Think I’ve Forgotten).

‘The King’s Last Song’ is a reflection on the fond farewell of a nation in mourning for their ‘God King’ Preah Samdech Norodom Sihanouk. A man whose love of Khmer culture propelled his country into it’s ‘Golden Era’.

His funeral was an elaborate three day ceremony through the streets of Phnom Penh. Shot in verite style and using archival clips from films the King directed and starred in himself, the film captures the Kingdoms people bidding a heartfelt goodbye to their ‘God King’ and affirms the timeless and resilient qualities of Cambodian music, dance and the cultural connections to centuries-old traditions

The evening in Kandal Village was truly magical and we owe many thanks to all those who helped us put the night together, Moonlight Cambodia, Phare, The Cambodian Circus, ChubMet Music & Art Festival, 60 Road Studios!

Videography by Sopheak Sao.
Music by Vanthan Ly.
